dogfighting: (MMMURDER TIME)

Oh, great.

If Lily's arm weren't injured, she might have gotten it out of the way in time. But it is, and she didn't, and now Alex's jaws are closing around it in a vice grip. She screams, a high-pitched shriek, as she feels her bones snap between Alex's teeth. It's been a long time since she's been hurt this bad. Her high tolerance for pain has been whittled down to half of what it was. And when she thinks it can't get any worse, Alex tosses her down the hall in a wide arc.

But she isn't stunned. Lily's mind is as sharp as it was when the battle began. This is what she was trained to do. This is what she was made to do. While she loathes her roots, they definitely come in handy sometimes. Like a cat, she rights herself in the air and lands on her feet, her heels skidding back on the deck. Her left arm hangs uselessly at her side, pouring blood. Steam rises from her wounds as her body begins to heal, but with just half of her regenerative power, an injury like this could take hours, maybe days to mend.

The chipmunks were child's play. This is a fight. And Lily hates to admit it, but it's actually fun. She hasn't been in a good fight in a very long time, and Alex is a worthy opponent.

She takes a few precious seconds to assess his weaknesses. Where are the kill spots on a leopard?

"Is that all?"
