| Three days.
Objectively, it wasn't that long, especially - one would think - for a being that has seen more than three hundred years, but Babette has never found herself in a situation quite like this before and each hour away from her family leaves her more and more on edge.
It doesn't help that her powers aren't returning to her, even though she hasn't fed since being kidnapped. She's not been cured, she knows that much from the sluggishness she feels while the sun is up, so what in Oblivion has happened to her? Some sort of spell, or enchantment? Who knows what this Captain Rowe is capable of?
Babette's initial plan was to wait for her powers to kick in and get the captain under her thumb, but since her powers have yet to return... Hmm. Maybe Rowe is smart; smarter than Babette anticipated.
At a loss for anything else to do, Babette has been keeping to her room during the day and slipping out in the evenings to explore the ship. There's enough lighting (how, she doesn't question; there are enough questions already without looking gift horses in the mouth) to see by and hardly anyone else around. As such, she explores more or less unheeded most of the time.
Right now, though, she's looking for someone - anyone - preferable asleep. Maybe she needs to feed again to... to kick-start her system? It's a long short, but worth trying, if she can only find a well-positioned victim. That said, she's not holding out much hope; people sleep in their rooms, which she can't access (not for lack of trying), so while there is food aplenty, Babette is left thirsty. |
